The vintage maps are where people look for shops in San Francisco and in Gold Country. Listing is free. Visibility is equal. There is no pay-to-rank, ever. If your shop qualifies, we want it here.

Two collections, one standard: the San Francisco map covers shops across the city, and the Gold Country map covers Angels Camp, Murphys, Sonora, Columbia, Jamestown, San Andreas, Sutter Creek and Jackson. This page also takes downtown businesses, frogs and historical markers, and corrections to anything already listed.

Submission criteria.

These four apply to vintage shops. Downtown locations, frogs and markers, and corrections are reviewed on their own terms.

  1. San Francisco and Gold Country only

    Your shop must have a permanent physical storefront in San Francisco or in California's Gold Country. Those are the two collections these maps cover, and nowhere else qualifies. Oakland, Berkeley and Marin shops are not listed here, regardless of how excellent they are, and neither is the rest of the state.

  2. At least 60% vintage

    Vintage must be the primary focus of your shop, making up at least 60% of your inventory. If someone walks in looking for vintage, they should find it as the main event. Select consignment and thrift shops are considered on a case-by-case basis.

  3. Active on social media

    Your shop needs to have an active social media presence, Instagram at minimum. Inactive accounts or shops with no online presence make it harder for buyers to verify you are open and to discover what you carry.

  4. Follow the community

    Follow @sfvintagemaps and @san.franciscovintage on Instagram. This keeps you informed about community events, map updates, and opportunities to be featured. It is also how we know you are invested in the ecosystem you are joining.

Every submission is read by a person within 48 to 72 hours and you hear back either way. Meeting the criteria does not guarantee a listing, and sending one does not put anything on the map: a person reviews it and places it by hand.
